Chinese Medicine
This is New York City. Everywhere you turn, there’s something coming at you. Bus exhaust. Taxi horns. Umbrellas. Handbags. Tourists.
It’s a miracle anyone survives. But how well are you surviving?
Being healthy means that you are able to gracefully navigate all the changes and challenges that life (or Monday) sends your way. With acupuncture and Chinese herbs I can help your body stay strong and supple so that you can handle all of life’s challenges and live your healthiest, happiest life.
I Treat the Whole Person, not just Signs and Symptoms
You have a stomachache. What do you do? Guzzle the pink stuff? I don’t recommend that. In the collective experience of centuries of Chinese medicine practitioners, a belly ache is probably a sign that something in your body or life is out of balance Let’s figure out what that is and treat it! That way, your belly aches will return less often or disappear forever.
My goal is to heal and balance your whole system. Rather than focus on symptoms (headache, indigestion, infertility), systems (cardiac, pulmonary, renal), or conditions (Diabetes, Hypertension, Addiction), I take all of these factors into account in order to understand why you are experiencing these problems, determine what other aspects of your body may be affected, and redirect these harmful cascades towards the path of health.
Chinese Medicine and Disease Prevention
With Chinese medicine, we can maintain your body’s healthy dynamism before diseases or pain conditions occur. By utilizing this ancient and expansive technique, I will give you the tools to make positive change, maintain health, prevent disease, and actively participate in your own recovery if illness should occur. This does not mean that you need to come in for treatments every week for the rest of your life. What this means is that if you feel “off” for any reason, don’t wait until your feel downright broken before you seek treatment. When symptoms are new, often all you need is a gentle adjustment and the body’s wisdom takes over with quick healing.
Treating Disease with Chinese Medicine
Chinese Medicine does not “fix” so much as provide the body with the information and support it needs to initiate the natural healing process. All healing is self healing. After all, even the greatest surgeon cannot heal the simplest paper cut, that is your body’s job. Sometimes all our bodies need is a slight nudge in the right direction. My goal, using Chinese Medicine is to smooth out obstructions, restore balance, and prevent illnesses from becoming severe or chronic. If an illness is already chronic, I use Chinese medicine to fortify the body and facilitate its return to a healthy and dynamic state of wellbeing.
